New Year

It's time to say goodbye to 2010.

The year was great. But now it is

that time again to switch over to

the new year...

2011. This year will have

good times and all through it,

Merry Christmas to all! I will hopefully be getting very active on the blog and posting a bunch of books between now and 2011. But, Merry Christmas, I hope you had a wonderful day, and if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope whatever you celebrate was great.

SERIES I'VE READ

American Girl Mysteries (Felicity by Elizabeth McDavid Jones). These books are based the American Girl Dolls. Each mystery has a separate problem that needs to be solved. The main character provides clues out of her suspicions.
For ages 9-12

Babysitters Club by Ann M. Martin. This was one of the first series that I ever read. There are over a hundred books. The characters range from 11 to 13 in the beginning of the series. The books are about problems that happen with the girls and their clients.
For ages 9-12

Circle of Magic, Circle Opens, Circle Reforged all by Tamora Pierce. The books are about four young mages growing up, getting students, and learning to control their power.
For ages 9-12

The City of Ember, The People of Sparks, The Prophet of Yonwood, the Diamond of Darkhold all by Jeanne DuPrau. Books about people under the surface of the Earth for over two hundred years. They come out and have to learn and discover the surface world.
For ages 9-12

Dear America, a Scholastic Series. These books are like a biography but they are really historical fiction.
For ages 9-12

The Doll People, The Meanest Doll in the World, The Runaway Dolls all by Ann M. Martin & Laura Godwin. The characters are living dolls who face adventures. There are two families of dolls. One family is plastic and the other is china. They must solve their problems without being detected by humans.
For ages 4-8

Guardians of GA'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky. Owls are the main characters. There are no humans in this series.
For ages 9-12

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling (all 7) You should all know about him! A boy wizard and his friends try to overcome evil in the wizard world. Great new words like "muggles" and "Quiditch" along with fabulous spells. I LOVE these books!!!
For ages 9-12

His Dark Materials by Phillip Pulman. The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spy Glass. A short time ago, a girl and her demon (a shape shifting part of herself) face obstacles and eventually work together with a boy to go through worlds. I highly recommend these books but I find it difficult to explain in a short summary.
For Young Adults

The Immortals by Tamora Pierce. This quartet is about a girl who has a knack for animals. She discovers that she has magical powers and can talk to animals. They help her.
For Young Adults

The Protecter of the Small Quartet by Tamora Pierce. A girl wants to become a knight but she must be on probation for a year. It's really cool because it has knights, squires, and pages. Check it out!
For Young Adults

The Inheritance Series. Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr by Christoper Paolini. A boy becomes a dragon rider when the egg hatches out of a stone/egg that appears in front of him. Filled with action, suspense, and magic. Loved it! (A high school boy wrote the series.)
For Young Adults

Inkheart, Inkspell, Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke. About a girl whose father can read things out of books. I can't say much because I will give it all away...
For ages 9-12

Little House on the Prarie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Laura writes about her adventures growing up in the late 1800s.
For ages 9-12

Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene. A girl detective solves crimes.
I liked "The Mystery at Lilac Inn" the best.
For ages 9-12

The New Prophecy by Erin Hunter. The same great characters in Warriors, have a new prophecy to worry about. Six young cats must go on a journey longer than any cat has travelled before...
For ages 9-12

Percy Jackson and The Olympians, The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian all by Rick Riordan
For ages 9-12

The Power of 3 by Erin Hunter

The Secrets of Droon by Tony Abbott
For ages 4-8

Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. This book is about 3 children who have a series of bad things happening to them. There are thirteen books. They are really good, so don't let the back cover scare you away!
For ages 9-12

For ages 9-12

Redwall by Brian Jacques
For ages 9-12

39 Clues by Jude Watson. This book is about a boy and a girl who have a chance to go on a hunt that could change the world when their grandmother dies. Or, they could have 1 million dollars. If you are them, you go on the hunt...
For ages 9-12

Trixie Belden by Julie Campbell. A thirteen year old girl detective solves mysteries with her friends. I recommend book 2 "The Red Trailer".
For ages 9-12

The Tail of Emily Windsnap, Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the Deep, Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist all by Liz Kessler
For ages 9-12

Warriors by Erin Hunter. This series is about a forest of cats, treachery, desturction, prophecies, and much, much more!
For ages 9-12
